The Cultural Center of Viana do Castelo was inaugurated in 2013 in the portuguese city of Viana do Castelo. The project was signed off by the Pritzker Prize Eduardo Souto de Moura.
This part of the city with an area of more than 8700 m² was designed for cultural and sporting events. The construction is defined by a rectangular shape, an aluminum box that is associated with naval architecture. The ex-libris of this work is in the solution found by the architect, in which all the necessary equipment for the functioning of the different activities promoted in its interior, are installed in the outer limits of the main facades.
In this project, the Effisus Stopper solution was used, an innovative solution for sealing penetrations, of any size or configuration, on flat roofs – it was used for sealing penetrations in the slab of the first floor for numerous large metallic profiles.
