With Calford Seaden providing the architecture and civil and structural engineering services, this bold development in Caterham, comprises 49 affordable rent, mixed-use apartments and 15,000 sq ft of retail space (including a 2000 m2 supermarket) as well as underground parking.
The improvements to Croydon Road have been conceived with a view to making the area a greener and more vibrant place to shop, visit and live. This will help to regenerate Caterham town center, encouraging private investment and transforming it into an even more exciting commercial and community hub.
The architect’s proposal includes a greener, more landscaped environment, introducing trees to improve air quality, wider pavements with benches and a sustainable drainage system to funnel surface water into green spaces (gardens and trees) to address local flooding issues.
In partnership with award-winning contractors Thomas Sinden, Effisus was delighted to have been involved in the 67-69 Croydon Road Project, supplying our Breather FR System for the external façade of the building, protecting its components against moisture, driving rain and wind, and thus avoiding corrosion, insulation deterioration and mould growth.
