The new financial district of King Abdullah is a brand new project currently under development in Saudi Arabia. This major endeavour aggregates 59 towers comprised within an area of 1.6 million square meters.
This will give the city an extra 3 million square meters of multi-purpose spaces, 62 thousand parking lots, and accommodation for about 12 thousand inhabitants. In 2011, it was the project with the higher number of accredited green buildings in the whole world. The directive plan was outlined and supervised by Danish architects Henning Larsen Architects.
The Effisus Ecofacade solution was used in this project. A solution to ensure that all façade connections are sealed against water and air, preventing the façade from struggling with possible infiltrations, whilst maximising the energy and acoustic efficiency.
