Description:
The Museum of the Future is one of Dubai’s most ambitious and technically complex architectural achievements. Rising along Sheikh Zayed Road, this striking landmark serves as a global center for innovation, exploring the possibilities of science, technology, and sustainable development.
Designed by Killa Design and engineered by Buro Happold, the building’s torus-shaped structure – described as an “architectural marvel” – symbolizes humanity’s endless pursuit of knowledge. The facade features over 1,000 composite panels, each uniquely shaped and adorned with Arabic calligraphy derived from quotes by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. These inscriptions also serve as windows, allowing natural light to filter through the building in an interplay of art and technology. The project begun in 2016 and was completed in 2022, fully designed to optimize energy efficiency and natural lighting, aligned to Dubai’s sustainable vision for a more sustainable urban landscape.
The Museum of the Future stands not only as a cultural and scientific hub but also as a testament to the power of innovation, engineering excellence, and architectural creativity.
Applied Solutions:
Effisus Ecofacade was applied at façade interfaces, ensuring airtightness, watertightness, and long-term durability while accommodating the project’s complex geometries.
Effisus Bond FT was used for roof joints, providing a fully bonded waterproofing solution with high resistance to UV exposure and extreme temperatures.
Effisus TiteGutter3 was applied on gutter joints, guaranteeing a permanent watertight seal and reliable performance.
Effisus Stopper was used to seal the crossings, offering flexible sealing capable of absorbing movements and preventing water ingress in critical transition areas.
Our Added Value:
For a building like the Museum of the Future, reputation, longevity and performance matter: leaks, façade failure, or thermal/air‐infiltration issues would undermine the icon status. Effisus’ systems aim to mitigate those risks.
Effisus solutions have brought to the project:
Long-Term Protection: Leak-free, durable façade envelope reducing maintenance costs.
Energy Efficiency: Enhanced airtightness and thermal control, improved comfort and reduced energy use.
Precision & Quality: Easy-to-install systems ensure reliable on-site performance.
Sustainability: Long-lasting materials and reduced waste contribute to a greener lifecycle.
Prestige: Supporting one of the world’s most advanced architectural landmarks enhances client confidence and brand value.
