On November 5, Rui Monteiro, Global Commercial Director at Effisus, took the stage at ZAK World of Facades London, contributing to one of the sector’s most influential global platforms for façade design and engineering.
Speaking in Session 4 – “Navigating the Trade-Off: Upfront Savings vs. Real Cost Efficiency”, Effisus’ director addressed one of the most pressing dilemmas facing project teams today: how to balance short-term budget pressures with long-term building performance and lifecycle value.

Key Themes from the Session
Effisus’ presentation explored three central ideas:
- Revealing the true human and financial cost
- Designing for resilience, not just compliance
- Smart strategies that save money and prevent failure
In building envelopes – where water management, airtightness, movement and fire safety converge – seemingly small decisions can have significant long-term consequences. Effisus has consistently advocated for solutions that prioritise durability and whole-life value, and our Global Commercial Director’s participation reflects that commitment by challenging the industry to rethink how cost efficiency is measured.
