The Unilever Pakistan industrial facility in Karachi is a key production and distribution hub supporting one of the region’s largest FMCG operations. As part of an ongoing commitment to operational efficiency, safety and sustainability, the site underwent a roof renovation programme to upgrade critical areas exposed to weathering and long-term wear. Given Karachi’s challenging climate, characterised by high temperatures, seasonal monsoon rains and coastal humidity, the refurbishment required robust, durable and long-lasting solutions for sealing vulnerable rooftop elements such as skylights and ridge caps.

Applied Effisus Solutions

Effisus Bond FT was selected as the primary sealing solution for the project, particularly for interfaces around skylights and ridge caps sealing. Its fully adhered, flexible technology allowed secure bonding, providing immediate and permanent watertight protection. The system’s strong resistance to UV exposure, thermal variation and mechanical stress made it ideal for industrial roofing applications where reliability and speed of installation are essential.

By incorporating Effisus Bond FT, the renovation delivered long-term protection against water infiltration across some of the roof’s most vulnerable areas. The system helped safeguard production spaces, electrical systems and critical equipment located directly below the roof, reducing downtime risks and maintenance interventions. Its adaptability to complex shapes and penetrations ensured continuous sealing performance, even in areas with significant movement or irregular geometries.
