Expo 2020 Dubai is an international event that brings together private companies, NGOs and government institutions to explore major global themes such as technology, sustainability, culture and economic development. The UAE Pavilion, designed by Santiago Calatrava, takes its inspiration from a falcon in flight and embodies the Nation’s vision, ambition and forward-looking spirit. As one of the Expo’s flagship structures, it welcomed 25 million visitors and participants from over 180 countries. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State and Director General for the Expo stated “The pavilion will be one of the Expo´s greatest icons, and it will become an important cornerstone in our site and will have a legacy plan that will reflect our hopes and ambitions for the many years to come.”
In this project, the Effisus Vapour FR System was applied to prevent condensation risk while improving airtightness and overall energy efficiency through the installation of a non-combustible, A1 fire-rated, air and vapour control layer membrane. Additionally, Effisus Stopper was used as a high-performance sealing solution for demanding crossing areas, adapting easily to irregular geometries and complex configurations thanks to the versatility of the Effisus Multishapper mould.
Together, these solutions ensured robust, long-term protection of the building envelope while supporting the ambitious architectural and sustainability goals of the pavilion.
