The facade required careful refurbishment, including removing existing cladding down to the metal supports, installing a new facade, and custom-built ceilings, while maintaining structural stability and aesthetic appeal. The building’s dramatic triangular atrium demanded complex engineering solutions, including raking columns, intricate floor-beam connections, and large transfer structures to support the upper levels. As a protected structure, the project had to comply with strict heritage guidelines and planning requirements, addressing concerns such as vibration, noise, and dust control to minimize disruption.
