Located in Romainville, France, this residential development forms part of a wider urban regeneration effort aimed at improving living conditions, energy performance and long-term building durability within the community. The renovation works focused on upgrading the facade system across all layers of the envelope – from exterior components to interface connections and internal build-up, ensuring that the building meets modern standards of comfort, efficiency and environmental protection. Given the climatic conditions of the region, with seasonal variations, wind exposure and humidity, the project required a comprehensive facade solution capable of delivering balanced performance across weatherproofing, airtightness and vapour control.

Applied Effisus Solutions

The project adopted a three-part Effisus facade solution to secure full envelope protection. Effisus Breather FR-B was applied externally as a robust, breathable, fire-rated weather barrier, protecting the facade against moisture, wind and driving rain while enabling the insulation to remain dry and effective. Effisus Ecofacade was used at all facade interfaces, ensuring watertightness and airtightness at window perimeters, facade joints and transitions, critical for preventing infiltration and energy loss. On the interior side, the Effisus Vapour System completed the assembly by providing a continuous vapour control layer, reducing condensation risks and enhancing the building’s thermal stability.

By integrating Effisus Breather FR-B, Effisus Ecofacade and the Effisus Vapour System, the renovation achieved a fully optimised facade envelope, with each layer working together to improve performance and resilience. The external breather membrane safeguarded the facade from moisture and weather exposure, while the interface sealing system prevented air leakage and water ingress at the most vulnerable joints. Internally, the vapour control layer maintained consistent indoor conditions and protected the insulation from deterioration. This comprehensive approach significantly enhanced energy efficiency, occupant comfort and the long-term durability of the building.
