Royal Liverpool Hospital – Clatterbridge Cancer Centre

Liverpool, United Kingdom

Description:

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, located in Liverpool, is one of the UK’s most respected specialist cancer hospitals, renowned not only for its expert clinical care but also for its research, innovation and development of advanced cancer treatments. With a team of more than 1,200 dedicated professionals, the centre supports patients and their families with exceptional medical services, compassion and a commitment to continuous improvement in cancer care.

As part of a major £162 million expansion, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre extended its services into central Liverpool, bringing world-class oncology facilities closer to patients’ homes and communities. The project also strengthens the hospital’s role as a key site for teaching, clinical research and medical presentations, ensuring it remains at the forefront of cancer treatment and education for years to come.

To meet the high technical demands of the building envelope, the project incorporated Effisus Ecofacade and Effisus Pre-Fab TrueSeal, a tailor-made prefabricated sealing solution designed to ensure flawless waterproofing of complex facade details. By guaranteeing precision, consistency and long-term durability, Effisus TrueSeal provided the reliability required for a facility where safety, performance and operational stability are essential. Through this bespoke approach, the weatherproofing strategy supported both the functional needs of a state-of-the-art healthcare building and the architectural ambition of the expansion.
